Open House

We kicked off December with an Open House on the 5th, opening our doors at 12:00 pm and welcoming people well past 7:00.

The waiting area was adorned with a simple Christmas tree and our usual courtesy hot water and variety of tea. We added a table filled with apples, grapes, candy, crackers, and chocolate chip cookies along with some apple cider to quench our guests thirst.

After guests grabbed a bite to eat, they received a tour of our two massage rooms and tea room designed to accommodate group guests of four for spa or bridal parties; then we convened in the reception area for free paraffin hand dips as I answered any questions anybody might have concerning services, prices, or just about the business.

Before anybody left, I handed out little bags containing brochures, coupons, notes on upcoming events/specials, a business card, a magnet 2009 calendar, and a sample of home-made Lavender bath salts.

It was a small crowd that visited; but I feel it was successful as I got to see some old clients and meet a few new people I look forward to seeing again in the future.

You Know You're Appreciated When . . .

Often, we all do things for others without a second thought of whether or not we're going to get any return; but, we all know a Thank you feels great to hear.

A tangible Thank You is even better!

So, the Merchants in downtown Clarion, PA would like to say "Thank You!"

Thank you for sticking by us through this economic hard time. Thank you for the many times you chose to buy from small business owners instead of bigger corporation. We appreciate and value you for these choices.

And, we'd like to make it up to you. So, we've dedicated an entire day to you - the customer:

Monday, November 24th

Over 33 stores in downtown Clarion are offering refreshments, discounts, and special offers all day on Monday.

And, there's free parking! No more worrying about whether or not the meter has run out as you peruse one shop after the other along Main Street and work your way to other Merchants within the side streets.

I'm joining in and offering my daily courtesy refreshment of Hot Tea within the waiting room aong with hand-outs and brochures readily available for any who need a refresher on all the services I provide.

And, I'm offering 1 hour Massages for only $40 that day only. A $10 savings.

So, come and enjoy yourself in Downtown Clarion, do some Christmas Shopping, enjoy the scenery only a small town such as this can provide, and know that your business is appreciated.

November Specials

Winter Warm Up
November is here and it brings with it the Holiday Season and possibly a forecast of snow or two. Still, that's no reason to let a chill ruin your Holiday Spirit: Warm yourself to your very core with a Hot Stone Massage.

The stones are special, smooth river stones that hold heat as they are placed under, on, and around the body as well as used to massage the face, neck, shoulders, arms, legs and back to a massage that will raise your core body temperature much like a soak in a hot tub will as well as warm and relax your muscles on a different level than a regular Swedish/Therapeutic massage due to the heat's penetrating and tension-relieving abilities.

And, do it all for only $55 in the month of November - $10 less then the regular cost.

Kick Your Cold
The winter chill along with the stress of the holidays can compromise the immune system, making you more susceptible to the cold and flu.
There are a few things that a person can do to boast the immune system in hopes to ward off any chance of finding self wrapped in blankets with a box of tissue and a bowl of chicken noodle soup.
  • make sure you wash your hands after being in public, being around those who are sick or admit to recently being around some one who is sick - just because they don't show symptoms doesn't meant they are not carriers
  • bundle up when out in the cold;
  • and try not to over-use anti-bacterial products - although they are handy for a good overall clean, anti-bacterial products cannot decipher between good and bad bacteria therefore they wipe out all bacteria, compromising some of your outer defense system
  • get a massage - a massage increases the amount of oxygenated blood that circulates, decreases stress levels which can compromise the immune system, and increased the amount of white blood cells, blood cells that make up the immune system, in the body
  • eat healthy or at least make sure your getting proper amounts of vitamins - vitamin C is a good cold fighter
  • get plenty of rest - lack of sleep nicks-away at the DNA make-up of your regenerating cells, meaning once you've lost sleep you at your basic cellular level cannot get it back!
If you happen to get a cold, take advantage of our winter special: Kick Your Cold which includes a 20minute upper body massage to loosen the muscle that participate in breathing (and coughing) with 100% Therapeutic Grade Eucalyptus Essential Oil and a Reflexology Treatment to encourage balance within the body through the Reflexes in the feet.

In the Community: ALF '08

Fall is upon us, the leaves are changing, and Clarion, PA is once again hosting their annual Autumn Leaf Festival (ALF); and just like so many years before this one, local and out-of-town people will be walking Main street, literally, to enjoy Farmer's and Crafter's Day.

This year, both members of Reconnecting will be offering chair massage for donations that will be given to a local food bank.

Helen will be there 9:00AM -11:00AM and again at 3:00PM - 4:00PM.

Donna will be there 1:00PM - 3:00PM. Afterwards, she will be setting up a chair at the Clarion Mall next to Mega Roc's station to offer Chair Massages during the Mall's first Wild Animal Show.

Hope to see you there.
